In my test, WonderISO proved to be a very capable tool and was able to create bootable ISO files from both Windows 7 and Windows 8 installation DVDs. The process is very simple and only requires a few clicks. What’s more

Here’s how you can use WonderISO to create a bootable ISO file from a Windows 7 or Windows 8 installation DVD:

1. It is widely considered to be one of the best tools for creating bootable USB drives.

To create a bootable DVD with Rufus, you will need a blank DVD and the ISO file of the Windows 7 operating system. Once you have these two items, you can follow these steps:

1. Download Rufus from the official website (https://rufus.ie/).

2. Launch Rufus and select the ISO file of Windows 7.

3. Select the "Create a bootable disk using" option and select "ISO Image".

4. Select the "DVD Drive" as the destination.

5. Click on the "Start" button to start the process.

6. Once the process is completed, you will have a bootable DVD of Windows 7.

However, if you want to install Windows 7 from the DVD, you will need to have a valid product key. Otherwise, you can use the DVD to boot into the Windows 7 recovery environment. Rufus doesn’t provide a Mac version, so if you’re on a Mac, you’ll need to use another tool such as Boot Camp or Parallels Desktop.

How Do I Know If My ISO Is Bootable?

The easiest way to determine if an ISO file is bootable is to check the file structure. Most bootable ISO files will have a bootable image file (usually named "boot.img" or "boot.iso") and a bootloader file (usually named "isolinux.bin" or "syslinux.bin"). If these files are present, then the ISO is likely bootable.

Another way to check is to burn the ISO to a disc and try to boot from it. If the ISO is bootable, then the computer should be able to boot from the disc.

Finally, some ISO files may have a special "boot flag" set that indicates that the file is bootable. This flag can be checked with the "fdisk" command line tool.

How to Boot Your Computer from Bootable DVD and Install Windows 7?
If you have a DVD installation disc, you can boot from the DVD and run the Windows setup program. This can be a useful option if you’re having trouble booting from your hard drive, or if you want to reinstall Windows. To boot from a Windows DVD, do the following:

1. Insert the Windows DVD into your computer’s optical drive.

2. Restart your computer.

3. If your computer has a BIOS, you’ll need to press a key during the boot process to access the boot menu. This key is typically F12, F2, or Esc.

4. Use the arrow keys to select the DVD drive from the boot menu, and then press Enter.

5. Your computer should now boot from the DVD drive and you should see a message asking you to "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD." Press any key to continue.

6. On the next screen, you’ll be asked whether you want to install Windows or repair an existing installation. Choose the "Install" option.

7. On the next screen, you’ll be asked to choose your language, time and currency format, and keyboard or input method. Make your selections and click "Next."

8. On the next screen, you’ll be asked to enter your product key. This is the 25-character code that came with your copy of Windows. Enter the code and click "Next."

9. On the next screen, you’ll be asked to accept the terms of the Windows license agreement. Click "I accept the license terms" and click "Next."

10. On the next screen, you’ll be asked to choose the installation type. Choose "Custom" and click "Next."

11. On the next screen, you’ll be asked to choose the location for your Windows installation. Choose the location and click "Next."

12. The installation process will now begin. Sit back and relax while Windows is installed on your computer.

13. Once the installation is complete, you’ll be asked to choose a user name and password for your administrator account. Choose a strong password and click "Finish."

14. That’s it! You should now be logged into your newly installed copy of Windows.

A bootable DVD is a DVD that can be used to boot up a computer, and also can be used to install an operating system, or to run a program that requires a computer to be booted up from a DVD.
